language
Believe it or not, most communication takes place without any word.
When you're talking with someone, stand upright and look them in the eye. This shows that you're a confident person. If you're nervous, pretending you are calm can help you feel more confident. When you are listening, pay all your attention to the speaker. Lean forward to show you're interested in what they're saying.
Two-way communication
A good conversation is not a monologue, that is, a drama performed by only one actor. Instead, it should be an interaction, which means both sides need to take part.
Questions can help when you're having a hard time thinking of what to say next. If you ask a question, the listener will have to respond by talking for a while. People are generally relaxed to continue their talks to those with similar interests.
When you ask questions, do come up with open-ended ones, whose answers are more than "yes" or "no".
