. They are optimistic (樂觀的), trusting, pessimistic (悲觀的) and envious (好勝的).
The study was done by a group of Spanish scientists. Just over 540 volunteers were put into pairs and 22
to respond (應對) to different situations, according to the study. They wanted to see how the volunteers 23
difficult situations. For example, in one situation, two people could hunt deer together, but could only hunt rabbit if they decided to hunt alone.
Scientists then used computers to classify (分類) volunteers according to their responses. The result 25
that 90% of the volunteers belonged to the four types.
Among them, envious was the most common (30%). These people don't care about whether they succeed, as long as they do 27

The optimistic (20%) group believed they and their partners will make the best choice. They will choose to hunt deer because that is best for both of them.
The pessimistic (20%) group didn't think either of the choices was good. They chose the one that was the least 29
. So they would go for rabbits because they thought it was more likely to catch something.
The trusting (20%) group did not 30
as much about whether they would win or lose. So in the hunting situation, they chose to hunt deer without a second thought.
