五、閱讀理解
① When you're trying to make friends, you may meet someone who just doesn't like you, though (雖然) you even don't know him or her. Well, what should you do? Here's some advice.
② Gossip (流言蜚語) can make meeting new people difficult if people hear something bad about you. It can stop someone from getting to know you. When you meet something like this, you feel bad. Can't you change their ideas? Just be yourself. In time, they will see that the gossip about you is wrong. Or they may choose to believe it. Don't worry and move on to making friends with those who deserve (值得) to have you in their life.
③ You'd think that your friend's friends would also become your friends. But it doesn't work that way. Sometimes people are happy with the friendships they have, and they aren't interested in adding any more. If someone chooses not to be friends with you just because you're new to the group, it's fine. There's nothing wrong with you.
④ It also happens when someone knows you and just doesn't like you. Every time you try to do something nice, they find fault. As much as it hurts, remember that not everyone is going to be your friend. These things could happen to everyone. There are just some people you're not going to like.
⑤ In a friendship, if someone doesn't want to be your friend, that's OK. Don't get angry at them because it's their choice (選擇). Give your time and love to the people that are interested in going out with you.
