I am Samuel. When I was a child, I had to go to a special education school because of my dyslexia (誦讀困難). People around me always told me that I was different and I couldn't do anything like normal (正常的) kids when I was young. Few of them were willing to encourage me.
At the age of 5, I started to go to that special school called People of Appraisal. Although (盡管) that special school helped me a lot with my communication (溝通) skills, I still wanted to be a normal kid in a normal school. At the age of 7, I was in Grade 1 at Creswell Elementary School in Opelousas Louisiana. I became an excellent student and my life began to change for the better that year.
Although I have dyslexia, I always keep trying in my life and don't let others influence (影響) me. Now I am a 37-year-old college freshman (大學一年級新生) and an excellent student in my college. Now I do believe in myself and I know that I will succeed in anything I do if I try my best. I've learnt that patience (耐心) goes a long way. Now I don't need anyone to tell me my weak points and what I can't do.
